Job Description

Main Purpose

The Marketing Manager – Extrudes & Traditional Trade is responsible for the alignment, development and execution of Extrudes & Traditional Trade brand’s marketing strategies.

To provide support to the Marketing Director in the development of Long Term Extrudes & Traditional Trade Brand (SBP) and Short Term (AOP) strategies that will deliver sustained growth for the business.

The Marketing Manager must have a full business understanding of the impact of all activities on Extrudes & Traditional Trade brands, impact and relevance to customers, shoppers and end consumers.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible as media subject matter champion for the planning and execution of conventional Media for the entire Snack portfolio.

Accountabilities

Marketing Strategy Development & Implementation:

  • Develop LT & ST Category Insight & Strategy (Strat Plan & AOP), Portfolio Direction from Marketing Director.
  • Lead the development of strategies for Extrudes & Traditional Trade Snack Brands (which includes innovation) to build brand equity and grow per caps.
  • Facilitate and guide the PC Brands team in the development of strategies and implementation plans of the Extrudes & Traditional Trade brands
  • Implementation & Control, Cross Functional Alignment Category Profit Responsibility
  • Align the Extrudes & Traditional Trade Brands to the marketing calendar – both long term and short term
  • Support the Marketing Director for implementation and delivery of the Extrudes & Traditional Trade Brand portfolio.
  • Ensure the integration of the Extrudes & Traditional Trade Marketing team within that of the BU, and ensure that the team optimizes its use of shared and support services.
  • Leverage Extrudes & Traditional Trade initiatives with BU strategy and objectives
  • Manage agencies in the development of communication to deliver on KPIs
  • Lead the development and execution of Extrudes & Traditional Trade thematic communication (where applicable)
  • Lead and support with BU specific communication
  • Supports development of annual insight plans to support strategy development and strategy performance tracking
  • Ensures PR strategy alignment and implementation
  • Lead and support the global and Extrudes & Traditional Trade trademark protection
  • Manage budgets with approved levels in line with agreed AOP

SBP/AOP Plan Development and Execution:

  • Support and align with the Marketing Director with SBP and AOP development
  • Translate business strategies to develop marketing brand portfolio strategies, objectives and plans to facilitate business unit growth.
  • Develop marketing strategy; design, implement, and facilitate annual marketing plan for the Extrudes & Traditional Trade Brands Portfolio
  • Lead in identifying opportunities and priorities during the BU AOP and SBP cycle plans
  • Support and facilitate development and implementation of section business/marketing plans.
  • Identify and evaluate ideas in between AOP and SBP cycle plans that are not in plan to maximise competitive advantage
  • Plan and administer the Extrudes & Traditional Trade Brands Portfolio budget, while allocating and supporting the development of each Brand budget.

 

Reporting:

  • Lead the presentation development of MBR, AOP and SBP for area of responsibility
  • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the Marketing Director, business unit and LT where appropriate.

Bring the strategy to life:

  • Lead the strategy process ‘A-Z’ from aligning with Extrudes & Traditional Trade strategy, deep consumer understanding to commercialisation while facilitating cross functional involvement and managing real and potential roadblocks (including sales, finance, operations etc.)
  • Set out clear market and brand KPI’s for each brand and brand custodian
  • Make the right trademark/ legal trade-offs early in the process
  • Deliver results: volume-revenue-nopbt.

Lead Multifunctional teams:

  • Coordinate and lead the team’s work stream consisting of marketing, R&D, ops, finance, purchasing and external partners
  • Align and re-align with functional team, Marketing Director and LT to get buy-in and commitment.

Capability/ Strengthen and Leverage the Organisation

  • Liaise with Region on developing programs and best practices to meet Brand and BU needs
  • Align Marketing Director and Leadership team on strategy and implementation plans
  • Takes responsibility on personal growth, performance and development objectives

Talent Development:

  • Assist the business and marketing team to meet its objectives, live the values and culture and to practice company policies.
  • Provide functional and business leadership and direction to the team.
  • Coaching and developing talent
  • Succession planning

Global Control Standards:

  • Ensure team’s GCS compliance at all times

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Marketing/Business Tertiary qualification (degree) as minimum
  • Strong functional marketing skills and ethos
  • Strong general management skills
  • Strong social media and digital communication skills
  • International perspective,

  • Persuasive skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong Computer skills (literacy)
  • Previous FMCG marketing experience (8 years minimum within marketing management)
  • People management experience (5 years) working with mega brands.
