Code 10 Drivers Hiring in Johannesburg – Contract DURPRO

A logistics company is looking for professional and experienced Code 10 Drivers for the Durban / Johannesburg / Cape Town.

Requirements are as follows:

• Matric (not essential but advantageous)
• 3 – 5 years’ solid experience driving truck – code 10
• Presentable, well spoken and professional
• Must be willing to work on contract basis
• Must have valid license with PDP
• Requirements:
• Older than 25
• SA Citizen
• Clear Criminal Record
• Matric
• Contactable references
• EC licence with valid PrDP which does not expire in the next six month
• 5 years experience in Link and 3 axle
• Tautliner experience advantageous
• Previous experience on Iveco, Actross and Volvo will be advantageous
• Be able to drive a manual truck
• Must be able to reverse
• Must be well presented with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Follow the “Opening Procedure”
• Assist in keeping the store clean and tidy
• Greet the customers in a friendly and professional manner and establish what each customers needs are
• Apply the “Battery Testing Procedure” provided to determine the state of the customers battery
• Once the results have been determined of the battery take further steps to solve the customers problem this will include other test such as the alternator and starter tests, if the battery is faulty follow the “Sales & Service Procedure” provided
• To complete the “Sales & Service Procedure” you will have to make use of the following skills
• Product Knowledge
• Pricing Knowledge
• Use of the “Battery Selection Guide” to provide the customer with the correct battery
• Apply the “Battery Fitment & Removal Procedure” to remove and install new battery
• Follow the “Battery Charging Procedure” where needed
• Build good customer service levels and business relationships
• Do customer deliveries/Call-Outs and collections of stock when needed
• Assisting with stock unloading and packing the store room
• Assisting with retuning scrap loading
• Report on customer product inquiries and make recommendations for improved sales
• Provide ideas to increase sales within the store
• Make suggestions on stock orders if necessary
• Resolve or escalate customer queries/complaints to the Store Manager
• When necessary follow the “Warranty Procedure” correctly
• Follow the “Closing Procedure”
• Keep updated with product knowledge

Additional Duties

Operational

• Collect and drop –off of employees at the site.(even after hours)
• Support the operation by driving to and from various locations
• Collection of items when requested by the site
• Communicate with the security company (after hours)

Governance

• Complete the required safety documentation
• Adhere to all road safety signs
• Comply with FA and the Client’s safety regulations
• Reporting, Recording and/or Review
• Must complete a logbook for the kilos travelled on each trip
• Must keep records of all travelled trips

Payrate is R45 – R49 per hour.

Starting date: Must be able to start working immediately.
