How to Apply for a Singapore Passport Online

Singapore Passport Online Application is one of the easiest, the process is really simple that, everyone can do it.

The Singapore passport is ranked as the most powerful passport in the world with visa-free or visa on arrival access to 189 countries and territories.

As a matter of fact only Singaporean citizens can apply for this passport and is issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore.

Singapore citizens can apply for passports from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). New passports are valid for 5 years. If you renew your passport before its expiry date, the remaining validity will carry over to your new passport, up to a maximum of 9 months.

Singapore Passport Online Application – How To Apply

Apply online using the Application for Passport On-line Electronic System (APPLES) e-Service (SingPass required). You need the following information:

  • Your NRIC/birth certificate/citizenship certificate number;
  • Date of issue of your NRIC (if applicable);
  • Expiry date of your passport (if applicable);
  • Your contact information; and
  • Visa/MasterCard credit/debit card, American Express card or Internet banking details.

How to apply from overseas

Apply online: Apply through the ICA website. You will need to produce supporting documents when you collect your passport in person.

Apply in person: Complete the application form and additional information form then submit them at the nearest Singapore overseas mission. Required supporting documents are listed on the application form.

Overseas applications require about 3 to 4 weeks to process, provided all relevant documents are duly submitted. the ICA will dispatch the passport to the Singapore overseas mission, where you may collect your passport.

Collecting your passport

If you are living in Singapore, you will receive a pink acknowledgement card by mail, 1 week after the ICA receives your application.

You should collect your new passport within 1 month of receiving the acknowledgement card; Passports not collected within 3 months of application will be cancelled.

Collecting at ICA

You can collect your new passport in person at the ICA:

You must submit a police report is required if your passport was stolen.

You need these documents:

  1. Pink acknowledgement card;
  2. Your NRIC; and
  3. Your current Singapore passport

Applicants below 16 years old must collect in person.

You must be accompanied by the “consenting” parent or legal guardian with these additional documents (original copies):

  1. Your Birth or Citizenship Certificate, MOE Student Card (if applicable)
  2. The NRIC of the “consenting” parent or legal guardian (legal documents must be provided) accompanying you.
  3. Guardians may authorize their spouse in writing to do so on their behalf and the spouse must bring their NRIC if they cannot come in person.

Collecting from a post office

If you are eligible to collect your passport at at SingPost, this option will be stated in the acknowledgement card. To do so, log in at the ICA website and specify that you wish to collect from a SingPost branch office.

Collecting from iCollect

With effect from 1 April 2013, suitable applicants who have successfully applied for Singapore Passports have the option of collecting their passports from iCollect, a self-service machine housed at ICA’s eLobby.

If you are eligible to collect your passport at iCollect, this option will be stated in the acknowledgement card. To do so, log in at the ICA website and specify that you wish to collect from iCollect.

Collecting from an overseas mission

Please visit the Singapore overseas mission in person with these documents:

  1. Your NRIC
  2. Your current Singapore passport and
  3. Applicants below 16 years old must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian with these additional documents (original copies):
  4. Your birth certificate
  5. Your citizenship certificate (if you are a Singapore citizen by registration and have not been issued with an identity card).
  6. The NRIC of the “consenting” parent or legal guardian accompanying you.

How to apply by mail or deposit box

Step 1: Complete the application form
You can download the form or collect a copy from the following locations:

  • Passports Unit, Citizen Services Centre, Levels 2 and 3, ICA Building
  • Community centres/clubs
  • Neighbourhood police posts/centres
  • Police divisional headquarters
  • Central Manpower Base, MINDEF
  • eLobby, Level 1, ICA Building

Step 2: Prepare a passport photo

Please ensure that your photo meets the requirements listed on the ICA website.

Step 3: Submit your documents

By Mail Send the completed form to:

By Deposit Box Drop the completed form in deposit boxes at the ICA Building at these locations:
