HSE PRACTITIONER – RETAIL at TotalEnergies

General Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on the level of compliance regarding the implementation of HSSE standards, any local by-laws and government legislation
  • Recommend suspension of operational activities when justified
  • Ensure that HSSE Management systems are in place to satisfy the requirements of the Group by implementing, maintaining and communicating the retail network manual
  • Ensure internal HSSE Audits are conducted in line with the Business HSSE Manual
  • Conduct all business related Risk assessments
  • Complete the MOC document for Exceptional deliveries or for any other required changes required by business
  • Complete the Monthly security presentation and advise relevant business units on progress
  • Ensure that all Retail events and non-conformance’s are investigated and reported as required by legislation and advice on corrective and preventive actions and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation
  • Provide comprehensive updates & statistical analysis (Trends) of the KPI Data for the Area of Responsibility including driving of action plan management for RAMSES, INTELEX, COMPLYWORKS

Communication

  • Conduct audits and inspections, prepare feedback reports, identify possible corrective action, follow through and follow up on effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Ensure all licenses and permits are in place, valid and compliance managed by the responsible person as required by specific legislations and that all license requirements were met
  • Ensure that all accidents/incidents are investigated, evaluated and results reported on a regular basis to Line management and relevant Retail departments
  • Ensure all level events have a root cause investigation with appropriate close out of cases and findings
  • Ensure that a REX is distributed to all staff and key stakeholders for level 3+ and HIPO events
  • Carry out all site inspections within area of responsibility as per the agreed schedule to report and assist in the closing of deviations
  • Immediately attend to site with an emergency when required by the HSE Line Management
  • Carry out any other lawful and reasonable instruction by HSE Line Management

Advising and training:

  • Communicate and implement in conjunction with management staff, HSSE management systems for the Business
  • Lead the training and implementation of the Business HSSE manual and systems
  • Guide, advise and train Retail Divisional Management on changes to legislation and related impacts as instructed by Line Management
  • Manage continuous improvement of the HSE Management Systems and be a HSE Change Agent for the Department
  • Ensure co-ordination of HSE activities

Communication / Liaison:

Provide recommendations and feedback on:

  • HSSE statistical analysis and actions required addressing deviations or initiating changes to improve safety performance in scope
  • Weekly & Monthly report on major HSSE audit findings and deviations for submission to Line Manager
  • Report to top management on the performance and needs for improvement of the Retail HSSE Management System and identify trends and possible corrective action, follow through and follow up on effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Ensure efficient customer service by resolving all HSSE queries / problems expediently thereby contributing to improved customer service

Purchase Orders & Expense Monitoring:

  • Review all financial documents prior to payments and ensure accurate and timorously processing and matching of supplier’s invoices for all goods and services received
  • Monitor all expenses for the Retail HSE Team
  • Ensure that all invoices received are available on “MyDocs” and followed up until payment (Invoice Receipt IR) is done
  • Submit budget vs actual summary to Line Management by the 2nd working day of each month for analysis
  • Prepare journals as requested by Line Management for corrections on the HSE budget
  • Prepare accruals and submit to HSE Specialist Retail and B2B by the 281h of the same month

Candidate profile

You possess the following:

  • Suitable HSSE undergraduate Qualification and a minimum of 5 years HSSE experience
  • Extensive experience in HSSE Management gained in the Petrochemical Industry
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • Advanced driving
  • Analytical ability and systems orientated
  • Proven co-ordination skills
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Innovation, creativity and flexibility
  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills,
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • English is the working language.
  • Knowledge and understanding of company policies and Company Rules
